Became of of the biggest distributors of Colt Firearms in the late 1870s. See also Kitteridge, Benjamin Tradenames: Club Gun (on shotguns they retailed) .44 claiber percussion, single shot Philadelphia Deringer, 2 7/16" barrel, marked B. KITTREDGE & CO. In 1862 the firm ordered 2600 S&W Model 2 revolvers. Nearly 30 percent of them were aquired by the State of Kentucky at $ 13.75 per gun. The 7th Kentucky Cavalry was equiped by with these guns. This was the only cavalry regiment officially armed with the S&W. The S&W sold by Kittredge were stamped on the barrel B. Kittredge & Co./CINCINNATI, O. Major purchaser of Colt's Buntline Special Revolvers (serial numbers 28802, 28803, 28805, 28806, 28807, 28809, 28810, 28811, 28812, 28815, 28816, 28818, 28819, 28833, 28823, 28824, 28826, 28830) 3 were in 10", 1 in 12" and 11 in 16" shipped between November 1876 and May 1884.
